In 2018, while contracting as a Senior Copywriter for an advertising agency in Richmond, VA, I was tasked to execute on spec work for Capital One, which included email, paid Facebook ads, and digital display ads.
The campaign centered on the Fortune 500 company’s line of Venture credit cards. At the time, the travel-centric credit card was running a promotion with CLEAR, TSA PreCheck, and Global Entry to provide cardholders with an exclusive offer.
This required me to interface with an agency team including a creative director, account manager, and art director, and a client-side team. After receiving a creative brief from the account team, I was tasked with creative concepting. This found me brainstorming ideas with my art director, creative director, and copy chief—and executing on writing headlines and body copy. Finally, I assisted in pitching the work to the client, which was approved with minimal changes.
